lyrics

Intro: It's a boring story and I hate to sing about you. Cause here's a tale you don't deserve. I hope you choke on every word.

Verse: Flashback, it's 2004. October 27th but I can't be sure. But either way I found you standing just outside your door. You were crying out your eyes so I asked what was wrong. You said that you were gonna kill yourself, I said that you shouldn't. I invited you to my house, said that I'd teach you how to write songs.

[Chorus] It was you and me together getting high every night and we recorded every second just to keep us alive and the acoustic revolution was a bond that was thick as blood. It was you and me together getting high every night and we would jam on every instrument that we had in sight. But the acoustic revolution turned out better with minus one.

Verse: Flashback, it's 2005. Remember when I saved your life the second time. I had you sent to safety and I even sent supplies. Booked you shows and said to work on the album. Which you did, for that I couldn't be prouder. Just so you know, she laughed when I played the tapes you sent.

[Chorus]

Verse: Flashback, it's 2006. We all moved up to Minneapolis. We both moved up to try to conjure up a start. What you found was another plan. Stole my girl, but I'm glad for that but you bailed, and that's what really made me sad.

[Chorus]

Bridge: I was waiting for the perfect time to come back and tell you, that it's people like the two of you who end up in hell. And I was waiting for the perfect time to come back and tell you that life is fine and that I'm writing well. I was waiting for the perfect time to come back and tell you, that it's people like the two of you who end up in hell. And I was waiting for the perfect time to come back and tell you that wife is fine and that we're living well.
